FAQ / Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about kits, codes, and painting.
Will the paint in the kit be enough?
Yes. Each board size has a fixed palette and measured paint amount. Most images use some colors more than others; we account for that with a buffer so you can finish a full board.
How long should I let the painting dry?
Touch-dry is usually 20–40 minutes depending on room temperature and paint thickness. For stacking or framing, wait 12–24 hours to be safe.
What image formats can I upload?
JPG and PNG are supported. For best results, use a clear, well-lit photo with the main subject centered.
Can I reuse my code?
No. Every FingerPic kit includes a single-use code (or QR). It unlocks one finished dot board per purchase.
How many colors does a board have?
That depends on the size/type you buy. Small uses ~5 colors, Medium ~8, and Large ~12. Your photo is mapped to that fixed palette.
Can I preview before I buy a kit?
You can browse examples on the site. Kit codes unlock the full generator for your own image.
Can I print the result?
Yes. After generating the board, you can export it to PNG (and later PDF) for printing.
My photo is very dark/light. Will it still work?
Yes. The generator quantizes your photo into the kit's palette and keeps contrast. For very dark or very light photos, adjust exposure before upload for best results.
